Metalbird started as a New Zealand based guerrilla street art project in 2009. Inspired by stencil artist Banksy, Phil Walters the founder and creative - designed, crafted and hammered up dozens of life-sized, Metalbird stencils for no other reason than to surprise, delight and intrigue. In parks, in fences and on power poles… anywhere he thought he wouldn’t get arrested installing them. To his delight, people loved them. Before long, the art project had turned into a side hustle, then a full time job, and finally with a small team they set themselves the lofty goal of becoming “the Largest Art Installation Project in the World”. Creating more than just a product that people love, but a whole movement around the art, that in tune turns any medium into a piece of art. Having previously distributed out of New Zealand, Australia, UK and even The Netherlands, their next big step was launching in the USA. Commissioned through Glass Elephant's digital marketing package, we as a collective alongside them at Kollab were commissioned to create website imagery, launch media, monthly content roll outs for social media and moving imagery for marketing online for the USA launch of Metalbird.
